+Are the hats available in colors other than the colors listed?
In some cases additional colors are available. Send us a email, (Contact Us), indicating the style and color you
would like and we will let you know if it is available.
+Hats bought in stores often don't fit my head properly, can I get my hat sized for my head?
Yes, we can size your hat for you, we are milliners. Part of the beauty of purchasing your hat from a milliner is
getting a hat that actually fits. Most women (but not all) are size 22.5", which is standard.

It is essential for your hat to be comfortable. The standard head size for women is 22.5 inches (57.15 cm),
traditional styled hats that fit snugly on the head with no need for anything to hold them in place will be sized
standard unless a different size is requested. If you traditionally have been able to wear hats "off the shelf" from
department stores, etc. you are probably a standard size. If you have always had to make adjustments to "hats
off the shelf" please take your head size measurement for a good fit in your new hat. Headpieces and fascinators
are usually one size fits all.
{} HOW DO I MEASURE MY HEAD SIZE:
Heads come in all sizes. To measure your head size, place a soft tape measure/seamstress tape measure around
the head over the forehead (right above the brow and around the largest part of the head). Hold the measuring
tape firm but not tight. (In the absence of a soft tape measure you can use a piece of string. Mark the
measurement on the string, and lay the string out on a hard tape measure or measuring stick to get the
measurement).
Heads come in all sizes, and hairstyle can be a factor. Head sizes for women can range from 19 inches (48.26
cm) to 24 inches (60.96 cm).
{} HOW DOES THE HEADPIECE/FASCINATOR STAY ON:
Headpieces and fascinators come with an elastic cording attached, in black or white, (it fits underneath the
hair at the back of the head for a seamless, comfortable fit). A headband can be substituted if desired.
+How do I pay for my hat?
We accept all major credit cards via Pay Pal. Just click on the "Buy It Now" button shown with the hat style you
would like to purchase to buy your hat.
+I want to purchase more than one hat, can the shipping be combined?
If the hats purchased can be combined in shipping without compromising the hats we will be happy to combine
the shipments. If you have already checked out we will credit any overages due back to your account. If you
would like to know if the shipment can be combined before checking out, just send us an email, (Contact Us),
and we will let you know.
+How long will it take you to prepare my hat and ship it to me?
It will generally take two weeks for us to complete your order. If for any reason we anticipate your order taking
longer we will let you know at the time of purchase. We know hat emergencies can occur, so if you are in need of
a shorter time frame send us an email, (Contact Us), and we will let you know if we can accommodate your
request.
+I have a hat style in mind, can you make it for me?
We love custom orders. We recognize that sometimes a special outfit will require a custom style or color and we
would welcome the opportunity to design something just for you. Just tell us what you had in mind and we will
put together a quote for you. (Contact Us)
+How will my order be shipped?
We use USPS Priority for shipping. Insurance and tracking are included in the shipping fee. The shipment will
require a signature. Packages generally arrive within 3-4 days to locations within the USA. Express Shipments
are available for an additional fee, packages generally arrive in 1-2 days. (Express Shipment Request)
We do offer international shipping, contact us for a shipping quote (Contact Us). International shipments may
incur additional duties and fees imposed by the recipient country. Payment of these duties and fees are the
responsibility of the purchaser.
+Are sales final?
All sales are eligible for equal value exchange or a credit to be used at a later date. We want you to be happy with
your purchase, and provide re-sizing, and refreshment services for your purchase for no additional charge
(customer covers shipping expenses for services). Feel free to send color samples for coordinating via email (color
can vary with devices) or snail mail (recommended for exact match requirements). And we always welcome any

+++On occasion we may have to adjust trimmings and materials shown on headwear due to availability,
but we will always substitute with items of equal or greater value that maintain the spirit of the

Our goal at the start of La Hatterie Millinery was to develop a hat line that focused on original designs, quality products and limited production runs. Each day we strive towards that goal, we design new hats every day, we constantly source for new production materials, and we take pride in the fact that we are able to offer our customers limited production hat designs and many one-of-a-kind hats.
La Hatterie Millinery starts with quality materials and supplies; sisals, parisisals, fur felts, velour felts, sinamay, silk and a number of other materials. Starting with quality materials allows us to create a quality end product that our customers will be able to enjoy for many years to come. An originally designed hat assures our customer that not only will they have a hat that lasts for generations but one that is not a cookie cutter design.
Reproducing our designs in limited runs or as one-of-a-kind designs our customer is assured that they will not see 1000 or even 100 reproductions of their specific hat style. We want our customers to feel and look unique each time they wear one of our designs, and limited reproductions allows us to do this.
All of our hats and headpieces are our original designs and handmade in our New Orleans, Louisiana, USA studio. We start with quality supplies to produce headwear that "will wear" as well as they look.
